A year ago today, a dear friend of mine and to countless others, passed away. Arlene, we all miss you terribly and for most, are still trying to make sense of our loss.
I truly believe everything happens for a reason. October 28, 2010 was your calling to leave this earth and let your soul sail; your mission on earth was fulfilled and it’s that notion that I hold onto to understand why you had to go. You touched SOOO many lives, we’re all convinced you were an angel on earth… I believe it.
Your passing brought an entire community together. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. People who didn’t even know you were sincerely touched by your departure. Through your passing, friendships were also created. People who had never met before were introduced through our mutual loss and now have genuine friendships built on the common ground that we all loved you.
This past week has been a cold one (literally), but today there was this nice subtle warmth with the sun shining perfectly… I know in my heart that’s the warmth of you smiling down on us. Continue to watch over us beautiful! Forever in our hearts :)
